We are proud to be independently family-owned and certified child-slave free by Pono Cocoa 501(c)3. We have no investors or private partners and we will never use any automation or scale to the point where we stop hand-crafting our bars cacao to cocoa. Our production is limited to approximately 5,000 farm-to-bar chocolate tablets a year.
This means just a few hundred bags of cacao tea, ceremonial cacao and drinking chocolate because we don't believe its possible to scale without losing quality.
By hand-crafting every step of the process we can really develop and pronounce the nuttiness, spiciness, sourness or fruitiness that really shows off Hawaii chocolate in a celebrated way.

Many Hawaii Craft Chocolate companies stopped being craft chocolate when they introduced fully automated production lines. According to Wikipedia, the word craft means, "small". So we are dedicated to staying small. Making Craft Chocolate from cacao to cocoa, is an art that does not include automation, large-scale production or industrial size equipment or output. Don't let the industrial company's trick you into thinking their chocolate is actual 'crafted'.
We only produce in small 50 bar batches at a time ensuring a variety of nuances and subtleties with every batch. Taking the cacao to cocoa on our allows us to fully control all the flavors. Read more about in our blog!
